Israeli human rights org demands public inquiry into the Qana bombing
The Association for Civil Rights in Israel Tuesday urged Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to establish a state commission of inquiry into the killing of dozens of civilians in an Israeli air strike in the village of Qana in southern Lebanon.
It now appears that the military had no information on rockets launched from the site of the building, or the presence there of Hezbollah men at the time.
The IDF had said after the deadly air-strike that many rockets had eben launched from Qana. However, it changed its version on Monday.
The site was included in an IAF plan to strike at several buildings in proximity to a previous launching site. Similar strikes were practiced in the past. But there were no rocket launches from Qana on the day of the strike.
So, it seems that flatening the general area from which rockets have been fired is SOP. I suppose its a projection of the common procedure in the west bank and Gaza. Maybe about time someone asked some questions here?
