The other side of the veil

with 2 comments

Maryam Namazie reports on the bravery of Iranians resisting the veil. She also point to a Channel 4 documentary. You might think it absurd that while Iranian women are fighting for their right to unveil, British women seem to be fighting the other way round. But actually, its the same story, almost. No one should tell a woman (or a man) what or what not to wear. The rest is details. almost.

Almost. Never forget how privileged you are in the west. The fact that you can speak your mind without getting beaten for it should not be taken for granted.
