offset your emissions
Buy off your carbon emissions. I wish they had something similar for other vices: voted Bush? offset by a donation to the UN refugee agency.
The Myth of Cybersexual Losers
Regina Lynn says: ‘Online sex is not a replacement for sex, although it can be a replacement for no sex.‘
I would be inclined to accept this claim, even though I must admit I’m no expert on online sex, (I won’t deny being a fan of the traditional, i.e. ‘skin on skin’ type).
The reason I mention this is that I think, like with almost anything to do with sex, the messege runs much further then skin deep. In fact, you can replace ‘sex’ above with ‘social interaction’ and it would still be right.
JISC report on VLEs
This project aims to explore, from insider perspectives, the practice of designing learning, and how tutors incorporate this into their use of virtual learning environments. It will include a range of post-16 institutions and providers in the UK, representing FE, ACL, and HE.
Web design, rule #1
Text is interface.
I think I finaly got it. Now I know why I like the web-too-oh style. As a side effect of being geek-driven, its a back-to-text movement. Sure, better fonts, softer colours, using text size and arrangment to configure meanings. But at the end of the day, its text. no flash, no voiceover, no click-here-to-skip-the-intro-then-why-the-hell-did-you-bother-with-an-into-in-the-first-place.
Text. As in written words.

Zucchero’s Hell
Just back from Firenze. Don't miss the walk up the Duomo's Cuppola (i.e. up to the top of the dome itself). Note: its a seperate queue. You can skip the floor, and go straight to the top.
While you're there, if you're not too dizzy, have a close look at Zucchero's contribution to Vasari's ceiling.
